MBT strives to offer the very best for our dancers and is one of the Puget Sound’s highest quality ballet schools. However, we are also a small private business. While student tuition covers the basic costs involved in maintaining our studio, it does not allow allow for any extras such as theater rental, quality stage lighting and sound, costuming, sets, advertising and seasonal publications.
We believe that strong dance training includes high quality, professional performances. Ongoing support is greatly needed to maintain our high standards and the quality of your dancer’s training.
To maintain this quality and keep fundraising to a minimum, there is a required Performance Fee for each performance. The only all school fundraiser is our annual fall fundraiser, the all school Raising the Barre Auction. Each year brings new items and new activities. Please watch for Auction announcements (see the Auction information page) each fall for more information and plan to participate in this family event.
Performance Fees
Performance fees will be set and communicated to you at the start of each performance season. Fees will be calculated based on the cost of each performance including theater rental, the sets, lighting and sound required as well as other performance needs. There will be three performances fees throughout the year; Celebrate His Birth, the Sprint Repertoire Concert (Company division and selected students) and the Spring Recital (whole school). Performance fees will be posted prior to each concert and will not exceed $50 per dancer per event.
